What the role is:

Managing our Flight Kitchen unit operations (Preparation, cooking and plating of meals) to ensure that production of our customers airline meal range is to their specification, whilst ensuring all aspects of quality, service, cost and safety are maintained to the highest level. Employee engagement and efficient conversion of food ingredients into final product are key elements of the role.

Who you’ll be doing:

Liaising withOperations Director in the development offorecasts and budget targets which support unit operational plans

*

Ensuring that all unit activities are planned and organised to meet scheduled targets utilising the identified best practice tools.

*

Monitoring and reviewing unit performance and individual process performance, specifically in relation to consumption of labour and materials.

*

Ensuring Service Level Agreements are agreed with all customers and reviewed on an on-going basis.

*

Reviewing period service reports effectively communicating issues and agreeing and monitoring action plans, relevant to the Premium kitchen.

*

Performance managing your direct reports through our MPP performance appraisal system, ensuring stretching objectives aligned to our business strategy are in place.

*

Ensuring the highest standards of Food safety and hygiene throughout the unit, working with local and central compliance teams to ensure effective audit & corrective action plans in place.

*

Ensuring all health and Safety risks within the unit are identified, reported and managed in line with agreed procedures.

*

Ensuring the management team provide expert knowledge to customers regarding operating processes and in the implementation of changes in customer requirements.

*

Promoting a culture of continuous improvement within your wider team.

What you’ll have:

*

In-depth knowledge of production / manufacturing operational management

*

Significant experience of Operational people management with expertise in employee engagement.

*

Significant experience of managing budgets and forecasts.

*

Computer literate, and with strong data management skills.

*

Able to communicate well at all levels

*

An understanding of health and safety regulations in relation to operations, and an ability to put these in to practice and develop a positive safety culture.

*

Proven ability to deliver process innovation and change management.

* Food production, AND / OR Materials Inventory management at Head of Department Level

*

IOSH or NEBOSH certificate desirable
