Position Expectations

General Manager Maintenance Control

Position Summary
The General Manager Maintenance Control reports to the Director Maintenance and has overall responsibility and authority to direct the operations of JetBlue Maintenance Control activities.

Essential Responsibilities

* Directs maintenance and servicing of JetBlue aircraft
* The General Manager of Maintenance Control has overall responsibility and authority of Maintenance Control activities, Oversees the Deferred Maintenance and MEL Management Program.
* The General Manager of Maintenance Control assigns daily oversight of Deferred Maintenance items and Maintenance Control activities to the Duty Manager of Maintenance Control.
* Is responsible for the technical accuracy of the Minimum Equipment List (MEL), Configuration Deviation List (CDL) and Non-Essential Equipment and Furnishing List (NEF).
* Is responsible to arrange for contract maintenance at all JetBlue stations
* Assists the Director Maintenance in formulating the Maintenance Technical Support budget
* Is responsible for scheduling and monitoring the daily manpower requirements for Maintenance Control Duty Manager
* Oversees Deferred Maintenance Program (MEL/CDL/GMM items).
* Has overall responsibility for Out of Service Aircraft and coordinates Return to Service plan
* Assist the Director Maintenance in establishing Maintenance Control procedures
* Accepts Delegation of Authority from the Director of Maintenance during the DOM’s absence.
* Assist in the revision of company manuals
* Conducts or delegate the Technical Operations Performance Review
* Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

* High School Diploma required or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
* Valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant Certificate
* Six (6) years airline maintenance experience
* Four (4) years aviation leadership experience
* Working knowledge of Part 121 FAR’s
* Experience building and managing a budget
* Track record of capturing value and savings within a Technical Operations function
* Take a significant role in the development of crewmembers to support the engagement, growth, goal achievement
* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
* Excellent verbal, written, as well as strong analytical and time management skills
* Available for occasional overnight travel (30%)
* Currently in possession of a valid Passport with the ability to travel in and out of the United States
* Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge
* Depending on location, may need to acquire and maintain a United States Customs Clearance
* Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
* Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in aviation related field
* Experience leading a large and multi department TechOps work group
* Ability to work in a team environment, under pressure, in a demanding, and fast-paced operation
* Accountable and results driven

* Regular attendance and punctuality
* Flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
* Well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance
* When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
* Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, and exhibits the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun
* Must fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue’s Safety Management System
* Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards
* Identify safety concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report(SAR))
* Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls
* Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities
