We are currently searching for a General Manager, Group Financial Reporting and Planning to join the team located in Brisbane. The key purpose of this role is to take accountability and control, whilst continuously improving the finance and accounting processes, planning practices and policies of the Virgin Australia Group. The Virgin Australia Group comprises of Virgin Australia domestic and international airline businesses, Tigerair airline business, Regional and Charter airline businesses and Velocity, the airlines’ frequent flyer program.

This role oversees the financial operations, financial planning, statutory reporting and compliance operations of the Group and all its subsidiaries and joint ventures to ensure they are conducted within the relevant legislative requirements. The role will also support the business in delivering superior financial performance through the upfront provision of effective financial budgeting and planning processes and accurate and timely reporting of actual financial information and variance analysis.

The is an influential role and leads a large finance team of approximately 30 FTE along with offshore capacity and is responsible for working with several teams including but not limited to Group Reporting, Revenue Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis, Cost Accounting and the financial teams within each business unit.

To be successful in this role you will have extensive general management experience in a financial department of large publicly listed organisations, preferably one with multiple subsidiaries. You’ll be a spirited and collaborative leader who leads with heart and creativity and empowers their people to be their best selves.
