Job Title: Fuels & Propeller Technician

Purpose of the role:

The Technician is responsible, through the Fuels and Propellers Manager for the safe maintenance, during Repair and Overhaul of Fuels and Propeller components to meet customer demands in an agreed timescale.

Key responsibilities and duties:

1. Comply with all Health, Safety and Environmental regulations and ensure the Health and Safety of all associates within the department, specifically ensuring compliance with all appropriate Health and Safety instructions. Adherence to appropriate risk assessments, machinery, tools, display screen equipment, PPE and all other safety measures. 

2. Effectively and efficiently carry out, a variety of maintenance activities and modification programmes i.a.w. his or her trade, qualifications and authorisation only using current authorised procedures as laid down in the relevant approved source documentation. 

3. Complete and maintain work experience and training record entries, to demonstrate competence and continuing professional development. 

4. Contribute to team delivery of agreed targets and goals. 

5. Comply fully with the company Procedures. 

6. Attend and contribute to team meetings.  

7. Fully embrace the Improving Quality (IQ) system, ensuring that the team monitors all aspects of their Quality performance and, where necessary, implement corrective action to improve Quality standards. 

8. Achieve maximum flexibility, by undertaking training and mentoring staff members and/or apprentices as appropriate. 

9. Agree to do other duties within the team to support team output. 

10. Work within and promote the Company Behavioural Values. 

11. Participation in Continuous Improvement or other related activities as detailed by their Line Manager and Company requirements.

Functional: 

Essential

Good interpersonal skills, IT skills, able to manage own workload in a team environment, delivering results vital to business success whilst being fully supportive to other team members.

Ability to read and use precision measuring equipment.

Ability to read and understand Technical Engineering Drawings/Manuals/Standards.

Familiarity with metric and imperial measurement.

Desirable

Background knowledge of aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul processes.

Has knowledge and experience of ERP systems.

Organisational Relationships:

Reports directly to the Fuels and Propeller Manager.

Professional Qualifications/Education and Training:

Essential   

Recognised indentured apprenticeship or military equivalent.

Desirable  

Rotary or Fixed Wing aircraft experience.

Recognised engineering qualification to ONC/HNC/HND standard.

Human Factors Training.

Experience:

Previous experience within an aerospace environment would be beneficial.
