Moog’s Space & Defense Group is seeking a Final/Shipping Inspector to join the Fluids Assembly & Test Team!
There are two basic functions involved in this position: Inspection and Coordinating
NOTE: Most work is performed in Class 10,000 cleanroom environment
Inspection:
Perform a wide variety of precision inspection and checking operations. Perform final inspection of machined parts, final assemblies and other parts to visual standards, recording all data and traceability as required.
This function involves the review of the completed hardware for external visual and dimensional features in compliance to drawing requirements.
Review test data sheets for conformance to specifications, legibility, completeness and accuracy. Insure that all shipping documentation is correctly executed and approved.
Accurate record keeping is required relative to serial numbers, models, part traceability, etc.
Use the following equipment as required, but not limited to: comparator, height gages, micro-height gages, digital bore gages, all micrometers, dial calipers, microscopes, gage blocks, dial indicators and coordinate measuring machines.
Coordinating:
This function involves contacting and presenting completed hardware and software to customer and government representatives for approval and coordinating the shipping procedure by obtaining data packages, packing slips, government and customer shipping papers, and hardware in proper sequence.
You’ll be expected to anticipate the needs and possible delays and obstructions in shipping process and through intervention "pave the way" for expediting shipments.
This includes personal contact with internal customers across all disciplines, establishing priorities, and resolving problems incurred with in house customer and government representatives relating to the shipping process.
The coordinating function requires considerable initiative, and above average human relation skills particularly when working with customer representatives.
To qualify for this position, you must possess a two year technical degree, or equivalent, plus at least three years’ experience in inspection, quality assurance, assembly and test or a related field.
*This is a 2nd shift position.
