We are seeking to employ an experienced and skilled Facility Maintenance Manager, at the brand new and largest commercial kitchen at the Melbourne Airport.

Reporting to the Unit Manager, the ideal candidate will be well-organized and be able to manage a varied and complex workload. Have a working knowledge of technical/engineering operations and facilities management. Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to develop good working relationships both internally and externally.

Key Responsibilities

* Acts as first responder for checks, repairs and services for all machinery, equipment, systems and infrastructures.
* Performs a wide variety of skilled maintenance activities for the purpose of ensuring that maintenance issues are resolved in a safe, effective and timely manner.
* Plans and undertakes scheduled maintenance, using the Mex system.
* Responds to breakdowns.
* Diagnoses faults.
* Replaces / repairs of mechanical parts and equipment. (i.e. bearings, springs etc. As required)
* Coordinates the services and activities of skilled trades person(s) for the purpose of ensuring contracted work is completed in a safe, effective and timely manner and that it meets total.
* Obtains specialist components, fixtures or fittings.
* Manages budgets.
* Maintains statistical and financial records.
* Ensures compliance with health and safety legislation.
* Creates maintenance procedures.
* Ensure that a free flow of information is provided to the relevant personnel regarding works that are being carried out.
* Manages and keeps inventory of supplies and equipment.
* Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the business unit.

Selection Criteria

To be considered for this role you will need to meet the following criteria:

* Minimum 5 year’s experience in a similar role.
* Engineering degree qualified (Mechanical or Electrical) or equivalent preferred.
* Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices.
* Sound knowledge of safety management processes, systems and statutory requirements;
* An ability to work well under pressure.
* Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to develop good working relationships both internally and externally.
* Problem-solving skills.
* Efficiency and organization.
* Teamworking skills.
