Located in Woodinville Washington, University Swaging is a leading supplier of structural and kinematic control rod assemblies, flight control mechanisms, and swaged cable assemblies to the global aerospace industry. Founded in 1947 University Swaging was acquired by Precision Castparts in 2011, and became part of the Airframe Segment.

Position Summary:

The Quality Engineer This position is responsible for providing quality activities for the business unit in accordance with University Swaging’s quality policies and procedures and in compliance with applicable contractual requirements.

* Ensure all products produced and shipped to customers meet applicable business unit and contractual requirements.
* Maintain and/or administer an audit program to ensure conformance of the business unit’s products and systems to the overall quality system requirements.
* Issue, facilitate and complete Root Cause Corrective Action and Preventive Actions.
* Analyze new and revised quality related policies, procedures, and military/industry/regulatory specifications and ensure compliance with the appropriate requirements.
* Provide guidance and assistance to engineering on quality related activities of products in production.
* Provide assistance to engineering in the preparation of technical proposals.
* Maintain effective customer and government relations to assure adherence to quality requirements and provide support during inspections and audits.
* Provide representation of quality/test organization at TOC (theory of constraints), MRB, engineering, and production meetings.
* Administers Material Review activities on related products.
* Assist with various administrative tasks, which may include providing inputs for performance reviews and merit planning.
* Assume supervisory responsibilities as delegated in Quality Assurance manager’s absence.
* Assist Quality leader with other duties and assignments as required.
* Surveys suppliers/subcontractors and assists suppliers with quality improvement methods.
* Evaluate company, suppliers, and customer specifications/requirements and determines the planning and procedural requirements necessary to assure product quality within realistic cost parameters (customer advocate).
* Assist, mentor, and guide inspectors as needed to achieve program goals.
* Other duties and projects as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

* Bachelor’s Degree required (Mechanical or Manufacturing preferred, will consider other Engineering disciplines as well)
* Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in quality engineering in Aerospace or a related machined components industry
* Experience with AS 9100 Rev D and ISO 9001:2008
* Must have demonstrated leadership skills.
* Must possess good communication skills and demonstrate the ability to interface effectively with all levels of operations and management as well as with the suppliers and customers.
* Knowledge of good business practices, management techniques, problem solving and human relation’s principles is desirable. Must have work experience in GD&T, manufacturing, FAI, and quality engineering.
* Ability to lead change through demonstrated leadership skills such as teamwork and effective communication
* Knowledge and understanding of continuous improvement process and practical tool application
* Strong Analytical skills
* Strong Problem Solving skills
