Job Summary:

A highly motivated, experienced and competent electrical test technician for a role as part of a highly skilled team of electrical test engineers performing electrical test configuration preparation, integration, and execution of subsystem and system tests within an automated test environment on bespoke non-flight and flight spacecraft.

The role will include:

Electrical integration and testing of electronic units and subsystems associated with spacecraft platforms and payloads, e.g. Power, Data Handling, Software, communications and control, thermal, instrumentation.
Execution of electrical tests to prepared procedures and test scripts.
Defining electrical test aids and cables required to perform manual and remote electrical testing.
General support to the Principal Test Engineer in preparation and execution of electrical testing.

Essential Requirements:

Minimum HNC, or equivalent in an Electrical and Electronic Engineering discipline.

Current working knowledge of two or more of the following areas:

Electrical integration, test and operation in an ATE environment
Practical and theoretical knowledge of electronic units and subsystems, both analogue and digital e.g. power supplies, RF and data communications equipment, positional control units, instrumentation, etc.
Current experience of test script execution.
An excellent working knowledge of COTS test equipment e.g. Logic Analysers, Spectrum Analysers, DMM, Oscilloscopes, data bus monitors etc.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Desirable Requirements

Previous spacecraft test experience.
Software script writing for control of test equipment and test environment.
Cleanroom discipline.
Satellite Ground Station Control.

Shift Patterns and Travel:

The candidate must also be willing to travel for long periods of time to Europe and possible more further a field.

Please be aware that this role will also include double shifts. Most frequently used shift pattern -
Shift early 06:00hrs to 14:00 hrs
Shift late 14:00 hrs to 22:00 hrs
Some weekend working Saturday or Sunday may be required at peak times.
