Overview

JOB SUMMARY:

Development and Integration of Passenger Seat Electrical design data within budget in accordance with FAA, customer and HAECO Cabin Solutions standards of quality, while providing technical guidance to design staff.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

1. Provide technical support, supervision and guidance to engineering personnel of various disciplines for engineering programs in which HAECO Cabin Solutions is involved. Assist and guide Engineers in accomplishing designs.
2. Support various design review meetings with customers.
3. Must be able to work autonomously on complex design tasks.
4. Lead design teams from a technical point of view and review and check the design data produced by less experienced Design Engineers.
5. Assist with development of less experienced Design Engineers by acting as a mentor/resource.
6. Provide on the job training (OJT) for assigned design engineers and engineering designers.
7. Support, in a professional manner, with customers, major manufacturers, vendors, FAA, or other outside agencies to promote and support HAECO Cabin Solutions technical & commercial interests.
8. Interface with the electrical substantiation engineer(s) and ODA representatives to ensure that all designs meet the established FAA regulatory criteria.
9. Develop well defined HAECO Cabin Solutions statements of work from limited customer provided specification information and aircraft surveys.
10. Maintain and expand expertise in aircraft industry design concepts and standards consistent with HAECO Cabin Solutions’ work scope environment.
11. Provide staffing estimates, project management and accountability of projects undertaken by the engineering department and coordinate the program requirements with the Engineering Manager (EM) and Program Manager (PM).
12. Interface with other departments to ensure customer & HAECO Cabin Solutions requirements are met.
13. Provide technical support to HAECO Cabin Solutions manufacturing during the manufacturing and installation phases of HAECO Cabin Solutions developed designs.

Qualifications

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM

1. BS Degree in Engineering or related scientific field, or equivalent combination of experience and coursework.
2. Five (5) years industry experience in engineering field, preferably dealing in the design of modifications to transport category aircraft.
3. Five (5) years experience utilizing Solid works (or comparable CAD program) with demonstrable proficiency.
4. Must Possess knowledge of routing Electrical harnesses and creating electrical (IFE) installation for commercial aircraft seats in accordance with FAA and EASA requirements.
5. Must possess knowledge of Boeing/Airbus - Seat Electrical Integration Specification and ARINC 628 Part 5 specification.
6. Must possess knowledge of Grounding Bonding Calculation, IFE functionality test procedure and experience in performing Thermal/Waterproofness test on seat.
7. Must possess comprehensive knowledge of standard aircraft electrical components, and Electrical Wiring Interconnect Systems (EWIS).
8. Must possess knowledge of personal computer systems with Microsoft Office.
9. Must possess good oral, written, and organizational skills, and be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.

PREFERRED

1. Master’s Degree in Engineering
2. FAA Designated Engineering Representative (DER) / or ODA Eng. UM or ability to establish DER / ODA Eng. UM candidacy
