Job Summary

The ideal candidate must be a self-starter, be able to multi-task across multiple assigned projects, manage unplanned events, and take advantage of opportunities and events to achieve results that exceed expectations. This individual must be able to communicate with team members, demonstrate problem solving skills, critical thinking and prudent decision making skills to do the right thing, for the right reason.

This role will also require the ability to quickly become proficient in the understanding of hardware development and the associated company processes, primarily for civil certification projects.

Job Responsibilities

* Possess a passion for Quality, Process and Continuous Improvement

* Possess an understanding of the value of lean and associated savings

* Possess interpersonal skills to assure a proactive, healthy relationship within the DAC team and the development teams we support – ability to influence others towards positive outcomes and foster adoption of value added quality improvements.

* Possess strong attention to detail and apply insightful judgment in order to properly assure compliance and assess necessary quality related improvements

* Ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing, with the development teams we support

* Utilize their organizational skills and tools to work autonomously — plan and execute assigned tasks and/or multiple simultaneous projects while not hesitating to ask for help or support on issues you cannot control.

* Critical thinking skills for identification of non-compliance with ability to perform root cause for complex problems

* Work with teams on identification of design quality trends and systemic issues, and working with others to investigate, determine root cause, and recommend corrective actions to deliver high quality designs.

* Working knowledge of the Rockwell Collins design process, including the Rockwell Collins Technical Consistent Process (RC-TCP).

Basic Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline is required.

* US Citizenship or Permanent Resident (Green Card) is required.

* Minimum of 2 years aerospace industry experience is required

* Quality experience in a prior role is preferred

* Knowledge of the engineering tool infrastructure (JIRA, PREP, DOORS, JAMA and ALM/LASR are examples), processes and procedures to perform, evaluate and capture evidence for quality assessments is preferred

* Hands-on experience as an electrical or mechanical engineer in support of avionics design & development project(s) is preferred.

* Hands-on experience in avionics manufacturing is preferred
