We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in Plano, TX. This exciting opportunity is responsible for providing customer-focused engineering support and services to internal and external customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Identify customer requirements and provide technical engineering solutions to meet or exceed customer needs
* Communicate with customers both on the phone and in person
* Visit customer office sites in order to review application requirements or obtain more detailed information
* Attend in-office meetings as required, conference calls with team members, or in-office customer meetings to review the project status or the readiness of application programming for an upcoming installation
* Conduct on-site service calls or on-site project meetings as required to install programming changes and/or perform hardware or software modifications supplied for start-up
* Attend training or conferences as required for skilled training in the office or at a customer site
* Read and interpret specifications and plans to determine contract requirements and communicate and execute solutions based on specifications and clarifications

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

* Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical, or Engineering Technology
* Minimum of 3-5 years of applicable work experience in the Engineering field required
* Prior Engineering work experience in the electrical or controls field preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Strong desire to learn about the products and industry to be able to apply product applications
* Ability to think analytically and creatively problem-solve
* Self-directed and strong self-motivation
* Detail oriented
* Strong organizational and time-management skills
* Ability to independently train and self-motivate in order to quickly learn customer software and hardware preferences
* Strong teamwork skills to identify the correct resources and effectively/efficiently communicate project needs by working as a team
* Ladder programming
* Function block programming
* Structured text
* DeviceNet, EthernetIP and ControlNet experience
* PLC conversions from old to new versions
* PLCs:
* Schneider Unity (M340/M580) and Schneider/Modicon 984LL programming
* Proworx NxT/Proworx32
* Rockwell PLC5
* SLC500
* CompactLogix and Logix L6x, L7x versions 15 through 29 programming experience
* GE R3xi and 9070
* Experience using Seimens is a plus

* SCADA/HMIs: Experience with Wonderware, Citect, Indusoft, Vijeo Designer, Proface GP Pro Ex preferred. FactoryTalk View ME/SE, iFix 5.5/5.8, GE Cimplicity ME/SE, WinCC isa plus
* Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs): Experience with Schneider Altivar, Rockwell preferred. Yaskawa, Toshiba, and others considered
* Motion Setup/Programming: SoMachine and Lexium, Kollmorgen workbench preferred. Rockwell Kinetix is a plus
* Safety PLCs: Rockwell Logix safety, Sick Flexisoft preferred

Physical Requirements:

* Able to lift up to 25 lbs.
* Able to pick-up material at floor level
* Able to lift items above shoulder height
* Able to stand or kneel for 10-20 minutes as required
* Walking or standing for extending periods of time
* Able to travel via automobile 30 minutes to 5 hour trips as required
* Carry equipment with or without a cart including a laptop and a tool bag
* Installation of minor equipment inside a panel for electrical wiring
