SAS Global Line Stations is a part of SAS ground operations. Our mission is through skilled and motivated co-workers manage all SAS ground operations in compliance with defined regulatory and corporate objectives. Our goal is to deliver high quality and cost-efficient Airport Services to SAS, with priority on safety, top punctuality and customer care.

Our team within United Kingdom consists of 5 colleagues currently responsible for 6 airports and approximately 11500 departures per annum.

The objective of the role is to plan, organize and secure a safe and efficient Airport Operation in accordance with the Ground Operations Manuals (GOM) as well as all local regulations.

Main tasks are:

• Ensure a safe and punctual operation at all UK and Ireland airports with primary focus on London Heathrow.

• Closely monitor daily operation including extra, ad-hoc and charter flights

• In case of extra-ordinary situations, incidents, accidents and emergencies, establish immediate contact and cooperation with relevant departments. Keep the Regional management in UK and Sweden informed.

• Act as an Emergency response coordinator in the absence of Area Station Manager in UK.

• Supervise the ground handling agents/sub-contractors to ensure that their performance meet the contractual requirements and the standards of the Airlines

• Coordinate operational procedures and issues between Airlines and sub-contractors

• Secure continuous update of local procedures and ensure the ground handling agents/sub-contractors aware of changes.

• Represent Area Station Manager in UK & Ireland in their absence and co-ordinate all airport related issues. Represent Area Station Manager in meetings concerning airport activities. In case of deviations, analyse, initiate and implement corrective actions as well as follow up effectiveness together with the handling agents and sub-contractors concerned.

• Budgetary awareness and control within area of responsibility.

• Check and Validate invoices related to station/s operation.

• Act as the Airlines’ representative, be visible and assist the sub-contractors, regulatory inspectors and the Airlines’ customers in all possible ways.

• Interact with STAR Alliance coordinator and STAR partner airlines in the region.

• Other tasks as delegated by the Area Station Manager UK & Ireland.

Education:

University degree or relevant equivalent

Experience and key competencies:

• Extensive experience in Airport Operations.

• Management experience

• Demonstrate suitable knowledge of SMS and quality systems.

• Broad knowledge of the applicable requirements, regulations, laws and agreements.

• Detailed knowledge of IATA SGHA and SLA’s.

• Microsoft Office Package

• Knowledge of Altea DCS.

• Key knowledge of financial follow up and budget

• Good knowledge of English, spoken and written.
