Job Description:

The position has a range of responsibilities that focus on
planning, developing, and managing Reliability, Availability, and
Maintainability (RAM) programs for Army ground vehicle systems throughout the
life cycle under a Design for Supportability (DfS) process. Applicant is expected to perform assessments
through data collection, system engineering analyses, modeling, and simulation
for current and future ground and watercraft systems.

Must understand
maintenance and logistics concepts at the working level, the integration of Failure
Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Level Of Repair Analysis (LORA),
Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), Maintenance Task Analysis and sparing
information within the block model and be able to work at an accelerated pace.

Working knowledge and experience with processes
that enable better decisions about the design and support of safety/mission
critical equipment at each stage of the product lifecycle and also help reduce
risk using interdependent analysis capabilities that consider the technical,
operational and economic requirements of the operator and/or maintainer of the
system.

Must perform model based
engineering analyses to understand the effects of failures and other impacts to
system performance on system functions at all hardware levels (system,
subsystem, and component) in complex systems.

Use model based approaches to evaluate areas
in which reductions in maintenance can be achieved, reliability can be
improved, and support functions can be optimized. Develop models that support decisions
regarding affordability and supportability in assessing performance and
suitability tradeoffs.

Works within the areas of maintenance and logistics
engineering and has a range of responsibilities that focuses on equipment
reliability, safety, health and environmental issues, manufacturing processes
and effectiveness techniques and reliability. Develops and/or participates in analyses and
recommendations using various analytical processes and tools such as FMECA, Reliability-Centered
Maintenance (RCM) analysis, reliability and maintainability analysis, logistics
support analysis/supportability analysis, operational availability analysis,
and life cycle costing data using modeling software.

Determines, recommends or implements
supportability requirements through systems engineering and design, preparing
business cases, communicating to stakeholders, planning and budgeting
resources, and documenting resulting maintenance/operations performance
agreements/specifications.

Qualifications

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines from ABET accredited with a minimum of 8 years work related experience.

Preferred Skills: Prior DoD engineering work experience is preferred. Familiarity with automotive technology associated with military ground vehicles also preferred.

Written Communication: The selected applicant should write clearly and informatively. The selected applicant may edit work for spelling and grammar and use various writing styles to meet customer needs.

Additional Notes: Must be a US citizen, applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. An active secret level security clearance is preferred.
