Position Overview:

The Maintenance Planner (MP) reports directly to the Senior Maintenance Planner. The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Planner is administration of all maintenance technical records, including data entry , and maintaining files of all records and documents, and to develop and document the short term maintenance plan for use by the maintenance crews, both on-aircraft and off-aircraft maintenance.

The definition of the short-term maintenance is that maintenance required for a given aircraft serial number coming due within 3 months. Such maintenance would include:

* All elements of the Periodic Inspection manual (PIM).

* Any know unscheduled requirements or out of sequence items.

* Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, Special Inspections, etc.

* Modifications, aircraft, engine, and accessory upgrades and inspection program sampling elements.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

* Develop and maintain Cormorant Aircraft Record Set.

* Preparing the scheduled and unscheduled maintenance documentation and associated maintenance control documents using various Work Order Systems.

* Planning the individual aircraft maintenance requirements to maximize the aircraft availability as necessary, to meet the Squadron Operational flight requirements.

* Making recommendations to the Site Manager and Deputy Site Manager on the management of individual aircraft utilization in order to evenly distribute the maintenance requirements on all MOB aircraft.

* Reviewing and closing all completed aircraft work order document packages for completeness, material certification tags, airworthiness directive or service bulletin or special inspection compliance records, modification compliance records, component change information, tool control records, maintenance and aircraft release certifications, etc.

* Updating the Technical Data Repository (including electronic copies and ensuring that all technical record data entry is completed in accordance with the Maintenance Procedures Manual.

* Perform aircraft servicing and elementary tasking as required.

* Maintaining and updating the aircraft weight and balance files.

* Advising the Site Manager and the Deputy Site Manager regarding any problems that may arise with any elements of the scheduled or unscheduled aircraft maintenance program, including tooling or materials.

* Identifying any problems with any elements of the approved aircraft maintenance program or schedule, and/or becoming aware of program/schedule enhancements, and making recommendations to the Site Manager and the Deputy Site Manager.

* Fly, travel and work at other Main Operating Bases, deployments in support of operations at remote sites, mobile repair parties and ferry flights.

* The Maintenance Planner will also provide direct support to the Cormorant Support Centre as required.

* Provide on-job-training to other employees.

* Attend training for trade and professional development and for qualification, recertification and authorization purposes.

* Provide administrative support to the Site Manager as required.

* Any other tasks, in support of MOB operations, that may be required from time to time.

Position Requirements:

* Be a graduate of a recognized aircraft maintenance technology program, or the equivalent.

* Have a minimum of 6 years aircraft maintenance technology program, or the equivalent.

* Prior Aircraft Release Authority, of the civilian equivalent would be considered an asset

* Have a good knowledge of civil and/or military airworthiness regulations and standards.

* Have prior experience with planning and scheduling aircraft maintenance activities.

* Have superior computer software knowledge and skills, plus administrative experience and report and writing skills.

* Valid BC Drivers License with the ability to drive vehicles, tow tractors and support vehicles.

* Participate in Continuous Improvement, Lean & 8S activities in your area.

* Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Canadian government security clearances.
