** Communications Payload System Engineer Required **

Oaklands Global are currently looking to recruit a Communications Payload System Engineer to join our reputable Aerospace client on a permanent basis based in Central London.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Developing software tools and undertaking communications analysis to support the definition of new spacecraft payload concepts
  • Design and development activities associated with specifying the requirements for spacecraft development programs
  • Participate in satellite development reviews and test campaigns
  • Analyse and provide recommendations for resolutions of communications subsystem technical problems
  • Support new space infrastructure procurement tasks
  • Support the operational team as required
  • Be on–call for the In-Orbit fleet
  • Provide timely reporting to management for critical and routine activities

 

 

To be considered for the role you must:

 

  • Good experience in communications system design and analysis
  • Provide innovation in the development for new communications analysis capabilities
  • Leading edge skills using relevant software programming tools including the ability to develop new software tools and also to be able to take over and further develop existing software tools
  • Solid knowledge in payload design with experience of key communications payload technologies including TWTA’s, SSPA’s, OMUX, matrix amplifier etc.
  • Knowledge of on-board digital channelization and beamforming
  • Ability to undertake analysis and verification of supplier data and performance data (e.g. G/T, EIRP, linearity etc)
  • Knowledge and understanding of the testing aspects communications payloads and spacecraft communications capabilities
  • The ability to discuss and contribute to the mechanical and thermal aspects
  • Good knowledge and understanding of satellite design, and assembly integration & test methodology
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A passionate desire to take on challenging analysis and programming tasks and deliver
  • A demonstrated ability to work across organizational boundaries
  • Flexibility to travel and work periodically at satellite manufacturer facilities, worldwide
  • Ability to be able to work with contractor staff and achieve success
  • Identify problems quickly and take action
