Job Title: Commercial Officer

Working Mon to Friday 40 hours per week. (Fixed Term Contract)
We are seeking a Commercial Officer to support the commercial Director and Commercial Manager with day to day tasks, providing both commercial and administrative assistance. A competent individual with excellent communication skills and a strong commercial understanding.
Essential experience and qualifications:
• Previous commercial experience
• Academic degree or Qualified by Experience with recognised professional qualifications through accredited institutes such as Institute of Export, Institute of Commercial Management, or the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply
Desirable experience and qualifications:
• A commercial position within a service delivery company or public sector, particularly under a PFI framework
• Understanding and experience in implementing Export Compliance procedures
• Contract Negotiations
• Company Law
• Financial & Commercial Frameworks

Essential Competencies:
• Experience within a complex contractual framework incorporating a Performance Monitoring/KPI regime
• Ability to conduct contractual changes, including coordinating work with company lawyers
• The ability to interpret and manipulate complex commercial data
• Coordination of performance monitoring
• Ability to prepare proposals and conduct pricing and contractual negotiations
• Financial awareness
• Thorough, methodical with appropriate attention to detail
• Competence in use of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
Core Responsibilities and Duties/Skills:
• Supporting the commercial manager and commercial director in identifying and resolving commercial issues facing the business
• Coordinating our commercial approach with various departments within the organisation
• Providing commercial support to other individuals within the organisation
• Developing commercial procedures within the overall company framework
• Seek and assess opportunities to deliver additional turnover and margin for the business and develop business models to support such initiatives
• Post-sale activities such as mile-stone review, invoicing, payment collection, etc.
• Corresponding with client on specific terms and conditions concerning KPIs and agreeing on way forward in case of disagreement/escalating to higher levels, including initiating a dispute resolution process
• Preparing all aspects relevant to a proposal (pricing, commercial terms and conditions, programme implications)
Commercial Officer

Based: RAF Cranwell/RAF Barkston Heath
• Preparing proposals and filing appropriately in SharePoint/ERP system and general organisational and administrative tasks within the Commercial Department
• Review, analyse and comment on various commercial contract aspects, to include but not limited to the following:
- Responsibilities of defined parties
- Terms & Terminations
- Representations, Warranties, Covenants, IPR
- Insurance
- Indemnities & liabilities
- Confidentiality
- Change control
- Governance & dispute resolution
- Payment & performance guarantees
- General provisions (jurisdiction, correspondence, governing law etc.)
- Risk Management

The successful candidate will be required to have the legal right to work in the UK and subject to security clearance which includes 3 years’ reference checks.
