Certification Engineer - FAA

Be part of the team that is responsible for providing certification oversight. You will be responsible for adherence to the Federal (Aviation Administration (FAA) and Organization Designation Authorization (ODA)) requirements, procedures and processes. You will be working with Leadership members from various locations to assess all relevant requirements and compliance to regulations and procedures. You will train representatives at different sites and Unit Members in the area of Federal (FAA and ODA) improvements, requirements and certification processes. You will back up to the Administrators and answer any inquires during this time.

Act as the primary interface between Unit Members and PC ODA Administrator

Manage Unit Members (UM) at multiple sites/Countries

Ensure the UMs are adequately trained and certified to perform their authorized functions

Monitor individual UMs to assure that only authorized functions are performed and within limitations as specified in the Honeywell ODA Procedures Manual, FAA regulations and policies

Ensure that current ODA/FAA guidance/regulations are available and that all UMs are kept current on the latest guidelines and documentation including FAA regulations and FAA policy

Develop and maintain a trusting relationship built on demonstrating sound judgment and integrity with the FAA

Work to report and resolve any safety issues or concerns associated with ODA

Perform Periodic and annual UM assessments

Maintain results of the annual assessments and report any issues or concerns to the PC ODA Administrator

Standardize and simplify PC ODA processes across Honeywell Aerospace where possible

Ability to conduct FAA Conformities

Ability to develop and conduct training

Work effectively with FAA designees in Manufacturing and Engineering, QA and Engineering leaders, ACO, MIDO and FSDO

Willing to travel (Domestically and International) at least 25% of the time

YOU MUST HAVE

* Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
* 5 years working experience with the FAA on projects similar to those authorized under the ODA

WE VALUE

* Some experience working with the Federal Authorities
* Experience with various levels of technical airworthiness responsibilities and experience (for example, compliance engineer, manufacturing inspector, Test Set up experience, or airworthiness inspector), and management experience in one or more technical disciplines (such as, manufacturing, airworthiness, maintenance, or quality assurance)
* Comprehensive knowledge of FAA regulations, policies, and procedures applicable to the ODA functions
* Possess a working knowledge of aerospace quality practices including both regulatory and industry standards, (e.g. AS9100 and CFR Part 21)
* Have basic PC skills/experience in Access, Excel
* Basic knowledge of avionics systems required
* Must meet any applicable Export License conditions for given project
