Category Manager – Aero technical

As Category Manager you will ensure to optimize and manage a Category within the Aero technical area. The contracts in this category have a high turnover and are long term.

It is essential to work with continuous improvements within the Category according to SAS supplier relationship process.

This cross-functional position will require participation in many forums together with the technical departments, SAS Fleet management and Product & Services. You will contribute in strengthening SAS competitiveness and profitability by minimizing total cost and managing business risk for externally purchased goods and services, while securing the right quality and delivery focusing on sustainability.

The Strategic Sourcing organization has 36 employees and is located at SAS Head Office at Frösundavik in Solna, outside Stockholm. The organization is divided into 4 main departments.

Example of responsibility

* Drive and secure that the category plan is developed yearly in collaboration with relevant Business Units

* Execute on the Category plan to reach agreed targets and savings

* Lead and perform sourcing events

* Negotiate and finalize agreements

* In cooperation with the Contract departments secure supplier and sourcing related issues within the defined area

* Develop Category strategies and make sure these strategies are aligned with the Business Unit strategy, business plans and updated annually

* Secure in cooperation with relevant stakeholders that Contract Management/Supplier relationship activities are carried out in accordance with SAS Group Supplier Governance standards

Experience and background

* A Master Degree in Engineering, Business Management or equivalent

* Preferably 5 years of experience of strategic sourcing

* Experience from aircraft sector is a big advantage

* Experience from stakeholder management

As a person you have great communication skills and the ability to collaborate with people on every level in a matrix organization. You have a strong drive and commitment to create results.
