BuyerPlanner II

Position Description:

The Sr. Buyer/Planner primary responsibility is to ensure timely and cost effective procurement and delivery of goods and/or services needed to support plant build schedules. The position actively participates in the development and implementation of strategic procurement strategies as defined by the Purchasing Manager and will represent purchasing on the customer focus teams and actively support EMC (Engineered Medical Components) in new product development activities.

Executes Purchasing Activities
• Reviews direct material demand, coordinates a plant focused inventory strategy.
Negotiates purchase price terms and conditions with suppliers.
• Evaluates planned order requirements and initiates purchase orders, reviews purchased order exception Messages and implements change requests.
• Resolve supplier delivery and quality issues. Evaluates supplier performance and initiates corrective action.
• Communicates and escalates materials supply issues and works effectively with Mfg. Scheduling and Sales to ensure production schedules and customer shipments are achieved. Supports manufacturing schedule reviews.
• Works collaboratively with Purchasing Manager in establishing and executing EMC Procurement strategy.
• Escalates and reviews all critical supply issues with Purchasing Manager.
• Pursues continuous improvement in all areas of responsibility.
• Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Team Function
• Attend daily team meetings as required.
• Communicate new projects to Purchasing Manager.
• Timely responses to expedites. Communicate delays to Sales.
• Quotes and re-quotes need to be updated in timely fashion.

Position Requirements:

• Intermediate/advanced Excel and other computer skills
• Detailed orientated
• Independent – ability to make independent decisions and produce high quality of work under minimal supervision
• Negotiation/problem solving skills
• Strong MRP/ERP experience
Preferred:
• Experience working remotely with manager and team located at a different site
• International Buying experience
• Medical device or semiconductor industry Buying experience
