Position Description:

Purchases inventory materials and plans work for assigned production unit(s), ensuring parts or materials and manpower are available for the shop to perform the work. Plans changes for assigned unit(s) and coordinates into production when appropriate. Provides other support to production and management as required.

• Responsible for acting on order releases action and exception messages from the system.
• Plans and manages production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize the company’s productive capacity.
• Responsible for the analysis of sales order releases with respect to capacity planning and material requirements.
• Responsible for the management of inventory levels, schedules and availability of selected items, either manufactured or purchased, to meet production schedules.
• Processes termination or cancellation requests from customers and/or Sales department.
• Orders floor stock with shelf life material for production.
• Receives and reviews purchase / sales orders against current requirements and work in process.
• Releases purchase orders for production material, floor stock items and all purchases to support the business unit.
• Interfaces with manufacturing personnel, other purchasing department personnel and production managers on material status and production planning issues.
• Composes letters from outline notes, verbal instructions or from independent knowledge of circumstances and policy.
• Performs typing, word processing, data entry, answers phone, maintains files and logs, prepares reports, and performs all other clerical duties as assigned and/or required.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelors’ degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field
• Minimum of 1 years’ experience
• Able to multi-task in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows application software such as Word, Excel, and Power Point programs.
• Writing and oral communication skills as to participate in discussions with vendors and employees, including engineers and shop floor employees.
• Working knowledge of Oracle ERP preferred.
