Aviation Labour Group (NZ) is recruiting for an Airworthiness Inspector (General Aviation) for one of our clients. This is a permanent position with an attractive salary package. We are looking for someone with New Zealand aviation engineering experience, ideally within the general aviation sector.

• Play a crucial role in contributing to the safety oversight of an important sector of the New Zealand aviation system
• Be part of an environment devoted to ensuring a vibrant aviation system
• Work with a diverse range of the aviation industry and technology
• You will be working alongside a motivated team of aviation professionals, dedicated to positively influencing aviation safety standards
• Use advanced risk management frameworks to inform evidence-based operational decisions and judgement
• On a day to day basis you will be involved in safety audits, operator certification, safety promotion, spot checks and investigations

Skills and experience

• Be a ICAO Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer with substantial technical skill and experience in aircraft maintenance and maintenance control and programs in General Aviation
• Inspection Authorisation and engine overhaul highly desirable
• Proven experience in the application of formal risk management systems
• You are someone with a passion for the construction and design of unmanned aircraft systems
• Proven operational knowledge and experience
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Experience with working closely with internal and external stakeholders
• Professionalism and aviation experience and be passionate about improving safety performance in the New Zealand aviation environment
• Problem solver using systems thinking approach
