Overview

An exciting development opportunity has arisen within the Operational Safety Team. The Airside Safety Manager reports to the Head of Operational Safety and is responsible for the monitoring and the implementation and functioning of the Dublin Airport – SMS, including the necessary safety actions.

The Airside Safety Manager is also responsible for the management of the safety reporting system of the aerodrome, investigating incidents and providing reports on safety performance.

* Third Level Qualification in a related discipline
* Up to 5 years’ experience working in a Safety Management role
* Strong relationship management skills and experience to collaborate effectively across business departments
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills combined with an ability to influence across all levels.

Responsibilities

* Responsible for the development, implementation and sustainment of safety programs within the Airfield to drive a strong safety culture throughout the operation
* Manage and Implement the safety management system, ensuring continuous improvement in relation to ongoing reviews of SMS and contributing to the updating of the SMS Manual as required
* Ensure that the relevant licensing requirements of EASA/IAA are met and all reasonable steps are taken to ensure that the aerodrome is safe for operations; advise that the procedures that are in place to facilitate the management of the airside operation are in compliance with all applicable national and international aviation safety requirements.
* Ensure that systems and processes are in place to provide continuous monitoring of safety performance indicators, trend analysis and management reporting; Provide advice on safety matters and information provision and dissemination in relation to airside safety across the stakeholder community at Dublin Airport.
* Safety promotion and stakeholder engagement: Management of Airside Safety Committee Structures, Participate in safety related consultations both within Dublin Airport and with relevant bodies on behalf of Dublin Airport. Implement safety initiatives for Dublin Airport, airlines, handling agents and other airside personnel.
* Ensure that there is a system in place to facilitate and encourage the reporting of all incidents / occurrences on the airside and that all airside incidents are fully investigated and that any recommendations are appropriately reviewed and remedial actions are implemented
* Review safety performance and produce monthly reports and analysis and safety statistics for presentation at all safety committees meetings. Formulate action plans and analyse data/trends to drive continuous performance improvements and incident reduction
* Manage occurrence reporting systems which includes compiling accidents and incident statistics and undertaking root cause and trend analysis; collate airside accident and incident reports and ensure statutory reporting of accidents and incidents
