Aircrew Life Support Equipment Technician (PR)

Purpose and Scope:

This position performs Aviation Life Support Systems (ALSS) maintenance in support of

EA-18G aircraft, and staff/student flight designated personnel.

Essential Responsibilities:

Manages, performs, and schedules inspections, maintenance, and adjustments of assigned aircrew flight equipment (AFE), associated supplies, and inventories assets. Inspects, maintains, packs and adjusts aircrew flight equipment such as flight helmets, oxygen masks, parachutes, flotation devices, survival devices, survival kits, helmet mounted devices, aircrew night vision and other ocular systems, anti-G garments, aircrew eye and respiratory protective equipment, chemical biological protective oxygen masks and coveralls, and other types of AFE and aircrew chemical defense systems. Repairs fabric and rubber components, including protective clothing, thermal radiation carriers, flotation equipment, and various parachutes. Evaluates problems and determines feasibility of repair or replacement related to inspecting and repairing fabric, rubber equipment, and parachutes. Evaluates work orders for fabrication of authorized items. Perform inspections in the capacity as a Collateral Duty Inspector. Remove, handle, store, inspect and install explosive devices in associated aircraft and/or flight gear.

Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Requirements:

* High School graduate or equivalent and a valid driver’s license required.
* Three (3) years actual and recent related experience in Aviation Life Support Systems (ALSS) maintenance.
* Knowledge of applicable technical orders, related publications and safety regulations required.
* Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with and pass any medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned tasks.
* Work rotating shifts.
* Travel for detachments in support of squadron operations.
* Secret Security Clearance required.
