Aircraft Worker (FSAT): Tyndall Aerial Targets

Responsibilities:

Functions in an operational role during aerial targets missions and simulations with the Gulf Range Drone Control Systems. Capable of high performance typing skills for real-time keyboard entries during high tempo mission operations. Responsible for tasks in support of GRDCS and the Range Control System as assigned. Oversees/monitors all software related anomalies. Performs corrective actions for system issues. Monitors and evaluates computer system performance and performs administrative tasks such as making system backups, file maintenance, and cyber security responsibilities on the systems. Analyzes problems concerning computer software and develops plans for resolution. Writes or modifies existing software programs to implement. Debugs application software errors, as required. Writes associated documentation and training materials to meet range requirements. Trains other employees as assigned. Performs application software testing and reviews associated documentation. Performs post mission tasks to include: extracting, formatting, copying, and performing data analysis on mission and simulation data using programming tools such as MATLAB. Is proficient in the handling of classified information. Packages and ships data products per applicable government guidelines. Has knowledge and experience in programming languages such as; C, C++, FORTRAN, Assembler and JAVA. Proficient with UNIX/LINUX Operating Systems and Microsoft Windows System Administration, and will maintain proficiency. Familiar with Graphic User Interface Development Tools. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Access, Word, Power Point, Excel, and Outlook. Performs hardware troubleshooting and documents results. Coordinates operations activities with other mission players and produces a mission data sheet on a per mission basis. Required to work at remote locations for temporary duty assignments. Performs additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science. Knowledge/experience in programming languages such as; C, C++, FORTRAN, Assembler, ADA and JAVA. Experience with UNIX/LINUX Operating Systems and Microsoft Windows System Administration. Familiar with Graphic User Interface Development Tools. Have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Access, Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook. Candidate must have or be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance of Secret. Must be able to think independently in rapidly changing and high stress mission situations. Must display even tempered verbal communication skills in time critical mission events. Data entry typing skills must exceed 24 words per minute.

Desired Qualifications:

Direct work experience operating GRDCS and providing data reduction products in support of subscale and full-scale aerial targets. Experience in administrating, upgrading and maintaining modern C3 systems such as BC3-T and JRE. Being able to use Microsoft Office Suite to organize, update, and extract data, as well as create timely reports from the existing data bases and create new ones. Being flexible with regard to work schedule.
