Due to continued growth in our businesses, we have a requirement for a Quality Control Inspector to join our Team at our Peterborough, Ontario location.

General Accountability

Reporting to the Quality Control Manager, the Quality Control (QC) Inspector will inspect and ensure the airworthiness of the aircraft, aircraft systems, equipment, and parts/components are in compliance with the provisions of the Company MPM, approved customer specifications and applicable government regulations. The QC Inspector will be required to verify proper documentation of discrepancies, inspection check sheets, task cards and all other supporting documents such as approved drawings and technical data, engineering orders, parts/component certification documents and regulatory compliance documentation.

Specific Accountabilities

Primary duties include, but are not limited to the following::

* Achieve the required product quality standards by creating, executing, and reinforcing AS9100 system objectives and processes for interior completions and exterior paint.

* Perform in-process and final inspections during production.

* Maintain a thorough understanding of the content of the Company MPM, QSM, QPM.

* Ensure that inspection items are complied with properly and contain correct manufacturer AMM and applicable references.

* Ensure that work packages are filled out properly, reference correct manufacturer AMM, customer and/or regulatory references as applicable.

* Review in process work instructions, procedures and process specs. Monitors and verifies quality in accordance with control processes. Recommends improvements and amendments as required.

* Performs review inspections on aircraft and components to monitor the quality of work performed and the adequacy of standards and equipment.

* Apply problem-solving techniques to ensure best practice and continuous improvement in quality deliverables.

* Maintain FOD/housekeeping standards to ensure a safe product and working environment.

* Utilize the appropriate resources to solve day-to-day problems; react quickly to unforeseen events.

* Work in compliance with all administrative, health and safety policies and procedures as per legislative requirements and as outlined in company policies. Foster a safe working environment.

Experience and Education Requirements

* Completion of College/CEGEP/vocational/technical training in Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) with Transport Canada accreditation, is an asset.

* "M" Aircraft license (M1 minimum), is preferable.

* Technical training in quality or related discipline, with a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience.

* Experience with business aircraft interior completions/refurbishments, heavy maintenance inspections and exterior paint processes as applicable.

* Comprehensive knowledge of tasks and responsibilities within their technical area.

* Ability to identify procedures and parts using approved data and manufacturer maintenance and parts manuals.

Skills/Abilities

* Understanding of the Quality Management Systems (QMS).

* AS9100 experience is an asset, but not required.

* Advanced level reading and interpretation of engineering and customer drawings.

* Advanced level knowledge of manufacturing procedures and practices.

* Advanced level knowledge and ability to use job-related quality measurement tools.

* Ability to work in teams and on a self-directed basis.

* Demonstrated problem-solving, troubleshooting, root cause analysis and countermeasure identification skills.

* Excellent technical oral/written communication skills.

* Strong interpersonal skills.

* Ability to manage multiple tasks and effective prioritization skills.

* Ability to influence others towards positive change

* Initiative to start and complete tasks on time.

* Must be proficient in MS Office (including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).

* Flexible to work any shift and overtime as needed (including weekends).

* Able to perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

* Regular periods during which physical effort is required, e.g., walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.

* Exposure to factors such as temperature variations/extremes, fumes, moving machinery, humidity, toxic materials which may cause periods of discomfort.

* Frequent need to give concentrated attention, either hearing, seeing, visualizing, drafting, to what is happening and work being performed.

* Frequent pressure from deadlines, production quotas, accuracy or similar demands exists, including working extra hours to meet deadlines as required.

Working Hours

This is a full-time (FT) position where hours will change due to business operational needs and flexibility is required (days / afternoons), with occasional weekend coverage. Flexibility is required.
