Aircraft Component Painter

JOB SUMMARY:

Apply pre-mixed and blended paint or coating to interior and exterior of assembled aircraft parts. Prepare surfaces for painting and protects surfaces from corrosion.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

I. Responsibilities focus on General/Principle Paint Methods (Bell SOPMs)

II. Aircraft Prep (cleaning, stripping, sanding), and Masking/De-Masking (fixtures, tape, plugs)

III. Apply detail masking lines to Aircraft and using complex stencils

IV. Set up, maintain, and operate typical shop equipment as paint mixers, maintenance of HVLP paint guns, perma-scope or other paint measuring equipment

V. Ensure accurate completion of work utilizing stencil maker, buffers, sanders, and other general paint shop equipment tools.

VI. Mix and apply various primers with thickness requirements (epoxy, waterborne, zinc chromate)

VII. Mix and apply various topcoat finishes including stripping and other detail work- polyurethanes, epoxy, lacquers, clears (gloss, semi gloss and flat colors)

VIII. Apply markings to part using stencils and masking aids

IX. Use of mil specs, detailed blueprints, fabrication, assembly outlines, sketches, patterns, and written or verbal instructions.

X. Paint booth manometer and temperature/humidity readings and tracking required

XI. Manage paint inventory, monitoring, tracking, and ordering directly from suppliers.

XII. Work directly with specialty repairs (scratches, dents, damage, blending colors)
