MPI Limited are looking for Aircraft Avionics Technicians to teach technical training to multi-national students with an age range of 16-35 in both classroom & aircraft hangar environments based at the School of Army Aeronautical Engineering, MOD Lyneham, Chippenham, Wiltshire, SN15 4XX.
This contract is for a minimum of 6 months, working 37 hours per week for 44.4 weeks per year (due to holiday shutdown periods).
PAY
£26.60 per hour Limited (via Liberty Bishop)
£21.13 per hour PAYE
Please note - this position is classified as being in the public sector and in scope.
Our customer has indicated that teaching experience is desirable but not essential and will consider applicants with a good Avionics background with a view to training them to be trainers. Ex military candidates are preferred as will be familiar with the aircraft and training procedures.
The successful candidate will be responsible to the Avionics Training Manager for classroom and practical instruction on a topic within the Avionics discipline and various allied subjects. Ancillary duties include lesson preparation and the production of training support material. Responsibilities comprise the control and supervision of students including the application of Health and Safety and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.
GENERAL
Candidates must have served a recognised aeronautical engineering apprenticeship or a relevant alternative period of training and possess an appropriate National Qualification and have at least 5 years experience in that trade or specialisation.
Applicants will be required to undertake a trade related test and deliver a 10-15 minute presentation at the interview stage.
The successful applicant will have to apply for a Defence Barring Service (DBS) check costing £25 (which is not refundable) and also undergo an MOD BPSS Security Clearance check prior to commencement onsite.
