The basic responsibility of an A&P Mechanic is to maintain and repair the equipment needed to make planes operate safely. This includes the repairing, inspecting and maintaining the structural, mechanical and electronic elements of the aircraft, replacing parts, measuring wear and assessing whether parts need repair or replacement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following duties are essential to the successful and satisfactory performance of this job. Other duties may be assigned.

Performing aircraft maintenance and repairs in accordance with applicable:

* Federal Aviation Regulations

* Company and repair station manuals

* Company and department policies

* FAA ASAP and FSA SMS Programs

* Performing inspections, testing, repairing light aircraft

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL and ABILITY:

* Airframe and Power Plant Ratings required (A&P license)

* Attention to detail

* General Knowledge and use of hand tools

* Must be able to read and understand technical manuals

* Ability to listen to directions and carry out the job assignment as directed.

* Must be able to work and interact with other mechanics and supervisors in a professional manor.

* Must have positive attitude towards productivity, quality of work and safety.

* Must be able be to accept criticism and learn from ones mistakes while striving for quality maintenance and safety.

* Familiar with firefighting and first aid equipment.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE OR FORMAL TRAINING:

General Aviation experience with 100 hour, annual inspections, sheet metal repairs, trouble shooting systems and replacement of parts experience is preferred.

* High school diploma or equivalent required

* Airframe and power plant license required

* Aviation experience preferred. Consideration given to new A&P mechanics
