Textron Aviation is made up of several business units, this opportunity is located within the Piston Business Unit.

This position is based in Wichita, KS at the Textron Aviation Employees’ Flying Club (TAEFC). Initially the intern will receive an introduction to the policies and procedures of the TAEFC. They will then perform various tasks associated with a flight school such as teach private pilot Ground School, help with processing of flight school and membership paperwork, and provide flight instruction to members and discovery flights for prospective Club members. Depending on many factors the intern can expect to give about 100 hours of flight instruction over the summer. The intern will also be given opportunities to job shadow in other departments at Textron Aviation.

Responsibilities: Teaches weekly Private Pilot Groundschool sessions. Processes member paperwork relating to the club and flight training process. Provides flight training to interns and other members. Answers phones and responds to members questions. Schedules and Performs discovery flights for prospective Club members. Performs tasks related to the operation of a professional flight training operation.

Qualifications

Education:

Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree with sophomore status or higher with a 3.0 GPA

Position Requirements: A passion for Flight Instruction CFI and CFII 2nd Class Medical and 1st Class Preferred 200 hours PIC 50 hours dual given preferred 25 night preferred 25 hours IMC preferred 50 hours PIC in previous 12 months Outstanding Single pilot Resource Management skills G1000 experience/proficiency Multi Engine preferred Excellent English verbal and written communication skills Strong customer service, interpersonal and communication skills Knowledge of business and management principles, ability to coach others Leadership potential
