The Doncasters Group is a leading international manufacturer of high-precision alloy components which are designed to operate in the most demanding of conditions.  We have an exciting opportunity for a Xray Operator to join our team.  

 

Responsible for the effective and efficient review and analysis of wax pattern x-ray images Operating Radview digital systems software with Gulmay / Vertex X-ray hardware with associated Windows operating system) in line with standard operating procedures, work instructions and process parameters to ensure quality standards are achieved in the product.

The role will include:

  • Follow agreed technique cards to determine if parts meet the required standard by using x-ray machinery.

  • Understand and interpret X-rays pictures to determine if a part meets the required specifications set by the customer.

  • Load parts on fixtures correctly to allow for accurate for x-rays to be taken and damage to parts minimised.

  • Label each part with the correct FO number and ensure part and core numbers match and correctly correspond to job card.

  • Accurately record all defects, scrapped parts and damage onto database.

  • Work as part of a team to achieve departmental KPI’s with respect to Right First Time (RFT), On Time in Full (OTIF) Productivity etc.

  • Maintain working environment to expected levels of housekeeping and organisation at all times.

  • Support and promote a Health & Safety (H&S) culture by complying with all aspects of including ensuring that Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements are adhered to at all times.

  • This role requires flexibility and individuals must be able to work such shift patterns that are required within the area and to cover roles and responsibilities of others during absence and holidays.

    The successful candidate will have the following skills/experience:

  • Ability to interpret and follow work instructions precisely and accurately.

  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team.

  • Radview digital systems software with Gulmay / Vertex X-ray hardware.

  • Prior experience operating X-ray equipment in a manufacturing environment.

  • X-ray certification – Level 1 and 2

  • Hoist and hooks certification.

  • GCSE Maths & English grade A-C or equivalent.

  • Capable of standing for long periods of time.
