Position Description:

Activities and Responsibilities
• Monitor and perform daily checks of wastewater treatment processes and trouble shoot as needed for proper operation.
• Monitor and maintain chemical tanks for reagents and floc additions.
• Collect samples and perform daily checks of metal from the effluent.
• Verify pH of effluent daily and notify Plating Department Manager of any excursions.
• Standardize pit (pH) probes weekly, document results.
• Maintain pH chart recorder for final discharge.
• Organize and schedule 3rd party monitoring to satisfy local MSD permit requirements.

1. Determine and help resolve “wet” process solution problems.

Activities and Responsibilities
• Work with Plating Department Manager, or Process Engineer to help identify and resolve problems in the department with respect to the “wet” process solutions.
• Organize and run tests as outlined by Department Manager, or Process Engineer to improve processes, troubleshoot processes, or to introduce new processes.

2. Maintain all waste storage and removal for the Division.

Activities and Responsibilities
Control the storage of all Hazardous Waste.
• Schedule, and contact (with Department Manager) 3rd party vendors to remove and dispose of all waste for the division.
• Treat and dispose some chemicals waste for the department.
• Maintain all required records.
• Handle E-Waste and Universal Waste

3. Monitor and Maintain DI Water System.

Position Requirements:

Activities and Responsibilities
• Daily checks of all aspect of DI water system to ensure system operates smoothly.
• Monitor water holding tanks all shift.
• Perform daily checks of specific gravity of water.
• Response immediately to any problem of the system.
• Perform preventative maintenance of DI system

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Shall be part of the emergency response team.

Must be able to lift 50-75 lbs

Chemical Operator, chemical handling experience, or waste treatment experience is a plus

Should be familiar with hazardous waste

Basic understanding of RCRA, hazardous waste and HAZWOPER is a plus
