Video Solutions Architect

Description

This role is for a Sales Engineer to focus on video-related ARRIS solutions such as IP/cable/satellite set-top boxes, video encoders, content delivery and software solutions running on cloud platforms.

Sales Engineering is a part of the customer facing organization within ARRIS, APAC. It provides sales engineering support resources to the regional sales group.

ARRIS products focused on Operators and consumers covering both broadband and video technologies.

Responsibilities:

* Communicate the value and benefits of the ARRIS product portfolio to our customers in a trusted advisor capacity.
* Act as a local specialist on all aspects of the ARRIS video product portfolio
* The candidate must be experienced in working with highly technical solutions and understanding customer requirements

with ability to communicate requirements back into the product management teams

* Identify potential partners for filling solution gaps, establish and maintain relations with local partners
* Establish credible relationships across all levels of customer technical staff in order to further communication of product capabilities, current needs, and future requirements between the customer and company engineering R&D teams
* Provide technical training through activities such as trade show demonstrations, customer product trials, interoperability and integration, product beta trials, RFx responses and defense, customer presentations, customer seminars.
* Provide technical expertise on overall IP/cable/satellite video delivery and network architectures.
* Develop and present positioning papers, technical white papers, presentations and other technical documentation for national/international level conferences.
* Proactively monitor the customer base and identify new customer needs and issues. Work in close cooperation with Sales, Management, Technical Services or Product Managers, as appropriate, for issues, opportunities and requirements.
* Increase market awareness of ARRIS products and solutions portfolio and capabilities through presentations and industry events
* Through a clearly defined process, ensure regional customer, product and commercial priorities are fully understood with International BU teams and aligned with APAC sales team priorities

Qualifications

Required Experience:

* Minimum of 5 years experience of working in the Video service provider Industry
* Experience with MPEG Digital Video coding technology, OTT video delivery and cloud platforms

Skills/Knowledge Required:

* General knowledge of IPv4 and IPv6 protocols
* Understanding of digital video technologies and standards like MPEG, DVB, RDK, conditional access and DRM
* Understanding of the APAC video service provider market
* Demonstrated knowledge in video infrastructure technologies
* Understanding of cloud technologies and platforms such as AWS, OpenStack, vSphere
* Highly motivated with excellent English presentation, verbal and written communication skills required.

Additional languages spoken are a plus.

* Good technical reporting and documentation skills (technical manuals, reports, problem descriptions, test cases etc )
* Must be able to work independently with a minimum of supervision
* Ability to travel internationally up to 25%
