Shorterm Group are working with an aerospace company in the Gloucestershire area who have an exciting opportunity for a VS (Value Stream) Support Engineer on a permanent basis.

Job Role:
Reporting to the VS Flow management responsible for the improvement of productivity and cost reduction initiatives together with assuring conformance to regulatory requirements, while promoting a culture of responsibility and self-sufficiency.

The primary focus of activity being on the Metal Finishing and Salvage activity relating to the MRO activity.

Main Responsibilities:
- To act as a technical focal point with regards to non-compliances ensuring they are dealt with efficiently and accurately plus timely closure and robust containment & corrective actions are in place.
- To lead the lean sigma initiatives in a facilitating / support capacity in order to identify and eliminate waste activity, promote thorough standardisation and drive out operating and VS working capital cost.
- Delivery of the technical training and support within the value stream including the technical review outputs associated to SBs, ADs, Process specs and / or CMM updates.
- To liaise with VS engineering in the progression of new repairs and concessions.
- VS audit responsibility in all guises (i.e.) sub contract suppliers, internal WP & QCP compliance, product, customers and internal group audits.
- Apprentice mentoring.
- Co-ordination of activity with other projects Green belts within the group.
