Carbon60 have an exciting new position for an Upholsterer to work in a permanent position based in Basel, Switzerland.

In order to reinforce the Upholstery Shop in Basel, Switzerland we are currently looking for an Upholsterer to be responsible for minor and major repairs of soft aircraft materials including seats and carpets.

Role Description:

• Perform minor and major repairs on aircraft soft materials following JBSL procedures without supervision
• Strip, clean and recover soft goods such as headliners, panels etc.
• Cut, sew and install covers for seats using templates, drawings and/or sketches/renderings
• Build up foam parts using templates, drawings and/or sketches/renderings
• Create templates for seat covers and/or foam parts and for carpets as well based on parts, drawings and/or sketches/renderings
• Train and instruct team members from the Upholstery Shop
• Be able to cut, adjust and fit/install a carpet with/without (extraordinary) pattern into the aircraft cabin
• Report work status, non-conformities, damages and other issues as may be defined to the responsible supervisor

Qualification/Experience:

• Completed Upholsterer apprenticeship or equivalent
• At least 3 years of experience as Upholster
• Able to read and interpret technical drawings with knowledge of aircraft maintenance
• Able to work without Supervision
• Good knowledge in MS-Office, knowledge in SAP is beneficial
• Fluent in English - Additional language is beneficial
