PURPOSE
The position of UAV Systems Operator Instructor is responsible for the competent delivery of their
relevant stream subjects offered within the scope of Aviation Australia Riyadh College (AARC) course
offerings. The Operator is also expected to participate in the delivery of specialist subjects relevant to
their stream which are embedded within other stream courses.
DUTIES
Prepares and conducts air reconnaissance missions.
Operates mission sensor/payload for target detection.
Plans and analyzes flight missions.
Deploys and redeploys the TUAV ground and air system.
Operates and performs operator level maintenance on communications equipment, power
sources, light and heavy wheel vehicle and some crane operations.
Launches and recovers the air vehicle, performs pre-flight, in flight and post-flight checks and procedures.
Directs emplacement of ground control station.
Directs emplacement of launch and recovery systems.
Supervises and assists in air frame repair.
Coordinates evacuation and replacement of parts and end items.
Gather vital information to enable tactical decision making
Observe meteorological data which would affect the UAV in flight
Liaise with air traffic control to maintain safe flying conditions
Have the ability to assist in flight planning and briefings
Control the UAV in airspace with other manned and unmanned aircraft
Operation of individual and crew served combat weapons
Conduct examinations, and participate in the preparation, correction and assessment of examination papers, reports and assignments.
Participate in the counselling, remediation and administration of students.
Participate in the development and generation of class notes, teaching materials and practical activities.
Be involved in the promotion of activities and programs offered by AARCOE..
Be committed to maintaining current professional competence by active engagement in professional development activities whenever offered by AARC.
Maintain and monitor classroom learning activities with due regard to AARC’s commitment to workplace health and safety.
Undertake other duties as required by the accountable / reporting Manager and Senior Management.

o Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation.
o Code of Conduct.
o Policies and Procedures.

The Instructor has the authority to:
Maintain the personal safety of students and peer instructors involved in the delivery of training programs offered by AARC.
Counsel and/or discipline students in compliance with the organisation’s policies and procedures.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Qualifications

Appropriate teaching or instructional qualifications
Desirable
Current licencing with the General Authority of Civil Aviation of Saudi Arabia (GACA).
Experience

Tactical / UAV operation experience of at least 2 years
Payload operation skills
Mission oriented awareness

4 and more years of operational experience
2 or more platforms qualification
Mission command experience advantage
Knowledge and Skills
Essential
Verbal and written English level of at least IELTS 5.5 academic certificate (or equivalent).
Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation that applies to aviation training.
Ability to interpret and apply legislation, regulations, policies and procedures, applicable preferably to a medium to large organisation.
Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to resolve issues through negotiation and consultation with other team members.
Strong organisational skills including the ability to prioritise work, to deal with competing demands, manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
Well developed problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to deal with sensitive issues and maintain confidentiality.
Strong computer literacy skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of applications
Preparedness to undertake training as required.
