Job Purpose  

Training Manager will create a strong link between the operation and the overall training function. Driving standards, quality and compliance working closely with key stakeholders they will be responsible for ensuring training is delivered in line with corporate standards. The Training Manager will build strong relationships with department managers and station managers, as well as effective management of third party training suppliers.

Job Responsibilities

  • To develop, coach and mentor training employees
  • To support and deliver technical and developmental training as required
  • Ensure training activities are planned and carried out in each location to avoid non-compliance and skills shortage
  • Conduct a training needs analysis (TNA) as required
  • Assist or Lead in the planning and design of new training programmes as identified
  • To evaluate training programs, measure success and implement changes where necessary
  • Maintain strong relationships with learning and recruitment partners, ensuring standards are met
  • Provide Internal Quality Assurance for internal or externally accredited programmes as necessary

Qualifications and Competencies 

  • Minimum of 2 years experience working in a training related role
  • Experience managing and/or coordinating training activities
  • Hold a full Driving Licence 
  • Ability to regularly travel between Swissport sites, with overnight stays when required
  • Good knowledge of written and spoken English and ability to communicate effectively
  • Good practical knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint and Outlook) 
  •  Proven experience in all areas of the training cycle
  • Excellent people and presentation skills, able to lead a training group by personal, professional example and motivate and develop staff to deliver the designated service.
  • Good working knowledge of the Airline industry, the key customers and airline product

Desirable

  • Hold a Level 3 (or above) Management Qualification
  • Experience managing a team, coaching and mentoring others
  • Experience delivering both technical and soft skills training
  • A member of a training, teaching or industry related professional body (e.g. IfL, CIPD etc.)
  • An in depth understanding of Return on Investment and Kirkpatrick evaluation principles
  • Evidence of Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
