We have an exciting opportunity for a Test Pilot to join our GA-ASI: Mission Systems division, directly supporting the Pilot Services team, for Manned Aircraft, sitting in San Diego, CA (Montgomery Field). In this role, the chosen candidate will test aircraft to determine compliance with specification and operational suitability.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
* Operate different models of test aircraft during engineering flights, production acceptance, and flight test support through specifically prescribed procedures and maneuvers.
* Coordinate flight operations efforts.
* Approve cockpit configuration.
* May conduct demonstration flights with customers, government officials, or other personnel aboard to exhibit aircraft performance, flying qualities and system capabilities.
* Assist and actively participate in ground and flight operations efforts including mission planning, briefing, debriefing, Crew Resource Management (CRM), flight plan test reviews, aircraft modification efforts, and company training.
* Ensure compliance with company policy/procedures and Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR’s). Complete, maintain, and track all qualifications associated with aircraft training, pilot currencies, and medical requirements.
* Provide the highest level of safety and professionalism while piloting all company aircraft during all missions types (Flight Test, R &D, Marketing, Corporate travel, etc..).
* Experience flying Experimental/Restricted Category aircraft in a flight test environment.
* Familiar with VIP Corporate flying.
* Prefer experience in the following aircraft: B200/350 King Air. RVSM airspace trained.
* Additional Functions: As required by the Chief Test Pilot, Assistant Chief Test Pilot, or Flight Test Director.
Job Qualifications
* Typically requires education al training equivalent to a four-year technical degree and eight or more years progressive experience in ground and flight test operations. Equivalent professional aviation experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
* Must have a strong aviation background and demonstrate a complete understanding of technical principles, theories, and concepts.
* Must have excellent organization skills including planning and coordinating work assignments. Must be customer focused and possess: (1) Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Commercial Pilot Multi-Engine Land (CMEL) Instrument Aircraft rating and current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate; (2) 2000 hours logged total pilot time including 1500 hours Pilot in Command, 500 hours Cross Country, 100 hours Instrument, and 500 hours in turbine aircraft; (3) ability to obtain a DOD clearance(s) as well as customer specific clearance(s); (4) ability to travel both domestic and international for extended periods; (5) excellent analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to accurately interface with all levels of employees and military and civilian customers, contractors and aircrew; and (6) detailed knowledge of computer operations and applications.
* The ability to work both independently and lead in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours as required.
Desired Qualifications:
* Previous experience operating King Air 200/350’s and/or military equivalent. FAA Certified Flight Instructor rating (CFI), (CFII), (MEI) in manned aircraft. Test pilot school graduate.
