Key Accountabilities

Reporting to the Aircraft Support System Manager/T3 Baggage Systems Manager, this position is responsible for organizing the work activity for the Aircraft Support Systems and T3 Baggage System.

* Organize the work activity for the Aircraft support systems and T3 baggage systems which consists of: T3 baggage systems Conveyors, T3 baggage system Sortation including SCADA and Control Equipment, Aircraft support systems passenger Boarding Bridges (PBB), Ground Power Units (GPU), Pre-Conditioned Air Units (PCA), Visual Docking Guidance System (VDGS), Potable Water Cabinets (PWC) and aircraft support system associated PLC/SCADA systems

* Providing input to management on developing Operational Plans to formalize site procedures in the conduct of maintenance functions

* Supervise the skilled trades and coordinate the daily activities of contractors

* Maintain and support recommendations for the Enterprise Asset Management program

* Make recommendations for improvements to the maintenance work program to maximize the operational use of the facilities plant and equipment through life cycle management

* Implement and maintain the restoration program to ensure long term serviceability of the Aircraft Support Systems/T3 Baggage System equipment inventory

* Ensure Kronos and crew schedules are up to date for sign off

* Provide on-the-job orientation and training for internal employees and develop and conduct training related to policies and procedures

* Audit the work carried out by trades, both in-house and contractors

* Perform safety audits and field level hazard assessments

* Carry out periodic inspections and tests on equipment and systems and develop condition reports for inclusion in the restoration program

* Provide hands-on expertise in on-site repairs and inspections by participating in, carrying out and completing maintenance repairs for jobs requiring specialized skills, meeting deadlines as required

Qualifications

* Minimum 5 years of Millwright/Electrical experience

* Minimum 2 years of Supervisory experience

* Electrical or Millwright Certificate of Qualification

* Must have valid class G Ontario Driver’s license

* Must have or be able to obtain ‘DA’ AVOP for Buildings within 30 days of appointment to the position

* Must be able to obtain and retain a Transportation Security Clearance

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Knowledge of millwright and/or electrical practices, codes, standards, theories and procedures, and sufficient knowledge of the other trades in order to represent a senior level of direction to all trades, during absences and off shift hours

* Computer/PLC knowledge and other technical knowledge of specialized programs used in the various Passenger Boarding Bridge Systems and T3 baggage systems

* Records management and other administrative practices and procedures including CMMS reporting and data entry as required

* Strong interpersonal skills to be able to receive and respond to complaints from systems users in a professional manner, and to effectively exchange information with internal and external customers

* Ability to lead, coach and develop a variety of trades staff

* Must be able to clearly articulate instructions

* Strong problem solving abilities to trouble-shoot systems problems

* Ability to identify restoration/replacement systems and equipment requirements and provide cost estimates for in-house work
