The Fleet Engineering team ensures that all Virgin Australia Regional Airlines (VARA) aircraft maintain regulatory compliance and that high operations performance standards are achieved through effective Configuration Control.

About the role

Our Technical Services Engineers play an important role within Airworthiness as they are responsible for all configuration management of systems installed in our fleet of Fokker F100 and Airbus A320 aircraft, in addition to carrying out technical assessments and providing responses to technical queries. We have an opportunity for a Powerplant/Mechanical Technical Services Engineer to join our team, which is based in Perth.

Each day will be both busy and challenging but your technical expertise and background coupled with your flexibility and versatility will ensure that you are equipped to support both the Airworthiness team and all stakeholders in achieving safety and compliance within our fleet of aircraft. A day in the life of our Technical Services Engineers includes providing technical support to both internal stakeholders and vendors regarding defect rectification, liaising with manufacturers and CASR21M providers on implementation of aircraft modifications and managing and providing technical advice with regards to technical projects.

What you’ll need

Still interested and wondering what you need to be considered for this position? We would love to hear from you if you have previous experience in a Technical Services team or if you have a Licenced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer B1 rating with extensive powerplant experience. You should be passionate about aircraft engineering and able to work in a diverse and fast paced environment, and operate effectively in a team environment. VARA has a fleet of Fokker 100 and A320 aircraft so experience on these particular aircraft types would be an advantage. You will have proficiency in both Microsoft Office and able to utilise databases and systems as we use Daniels IAS and TRAX on a daily basis.
