A leading Defence client is seeking several experience aerospace Technical Authors to join their growing team. The position is initially for 12 months with the opportunity for it to be on-going.Morson are pleased to be recruiting for this position.

Job Description

To produce and maintain On-Aircraft Ground crew maintenance publications.

The role exists to meet the contractual requirements placed to deliver recurring and non-recurring Technical Publications updates to national and export customers. The role will be to support the on-going, maintenance and delivery of Groundcrew Technical Publications

The successful candidate will need to have proven IT skills, in particular be conversant with the use of Microsoft Office. Experience of modern electronic production toolsets and Standard Generalised Markup Language (SGML) or Extensible Markup Language (XML) is essential. Good interpersonal skills are essential with particular emphasis on two-way communication and team working. Recent experience in the Aerospace industry or the operation/maintenance of military aircraft will be an advantage. The successful candidate must also be proficient at verbal and written communication with the ability to effectively research source data. Familiarity with Technical Publications specification ASD S1000D is essential.

Additional Information

Dependant on workload, local management may request more hours worked within this contract.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be required to perform tasks suitable to the internal level of this role. The role will contain, but will not be limited to, the following;

Responsibilities will include the preparation of new and updated National Data Modules in accordance with departmental procedures. To assess and incorporate internal and external customer requests and to provide accurate configuration management information.

* The preparation of initial issue Technical Publications and subsequent amendments of these in line with departmental procedures.

* Assessing and incorporating internal and external customer requests.

* The job holder must ensure that their output meets the defined criteria in terms of quantity, quality and schedule adherence.

* Maintaining the validity of management information to ensure accurate configuration control is maintained

The Individual

The following standards will be required of the successful candidate:

SKILLS

Familiarity with SGML/XML in the production of technical Publications

GOOD - Microsoft Office Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Project.

Personal Skills

ESSENTIAL - Communication, Team Working and Motivational Skills.
