TECHNICAL AUTHOR

Morson are currently recruiting on behalf of a market leading Aerospace engineering company in Broughton, Cheshire for an Aircraft Technical Author.

Summary of Technical Author Role:

An opportunity for a technical author has arisen within the technical publications department. Based at Broughton and supporting multiple aircraft projects the technical author is required to produce descriptive, operational and procedural data modules for the Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM), Illustrated Part Catalogue (IPC), Wiring Diagram Manual (WDM) and Flight Manual (FM) publications.

Main Duties:

• Gather information and documentation from subject matter experts, engineering reports, drawings and general aircraft related documentation.
• Comprehend and extract system operation information from engineering documentation and tools such as schematics and system specifications.
• Create content and update existing content. Source, create and use graphics appropriately. Actively support a continuous improvement program.

Tecnical Author - candidate Requirements:

• Experience as a technical author writing aircraft technical documentation to ATA 100/iSpec 2200 and ASD S1000D specifications.
• Experienced in the use of ASD Simplified Technical English (STE),
• SGML/XML, Arbortext Editor and Microsoft Office.
• Good knowledge of engineering drawing systems and general aircraft related documentation.
• Good communications skills and be able to work as part of a team or under own initiative. Well rounded with the ability to be flexible and adapt to changing customer requirements.
• The capability to work to tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Positive attitude toward change.
• Desirable: Good knowledge of Creo Illustrate/Isodraw. Experience with CATIA/Creo and AutoCAD.
