Job Description
What You’ll Get to Do:
As a Systems Engineer, you will act as a hybrid of a Systems Engineer/Administrator and will be responsible for infrastructure maintenance to include installation, patching, upgrading, troubleshooting, operating and maintaining hypervisor servers and associated hardware and software and ensure high availability of Virtual Machines (VMs).
More About This Role:
*
Maintains a virtual machine infrastructure comprised of over 80 virtual environments with more than 7000 virtual machines.
*
Includes installing, upgrading, patching, and maintenance on hosts (hypervisors) that contain virtual machines, and any virtualization hardware and software necessary to operate and maintain the virtual infrastructure.
* Provisioning/de-provisioning guest VMs
* Allocating and managing associated resources (CPU, memory, storage)
* Troubleshooting VMs as needed
Required Qualifications:
* 5 Years of job related experience and Bachelor’s degree
* TS/SCI w/ poly
*
Demonstrated experience as a System Operations Specialist in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
*
Demonstrated experience with Linux (RHEL, CENTOS, etc.)
*
Demonstrated experience maintaining a VMWare ESX infrastructure
*
System monitoring experience (memory, processes)
*
General troubleshooting skills
Desired Qualifications:
*
Demonstrated experience maintaining a HyperV infrastructure
*
Demonstrated experience with Windows Operating Systems
*
Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) Certification and/or Linux Training
*
Server/RAID familiarization
*
VMWare Certified Professional
