An opportunity has arisen for an additional Senior Engineer to join the Ground Service STO IPT at Samlesbury.

The STO IPT has been established to strengthen the management of technical instructions on the Typhoon platform with a key focus area on developing and managing the modification route to closure for a number of instructions. This role will be to assist the STO Closure Team Leader in ensuring all STOs have a closure plan identified, managed through to completion and therefore help the business objective to reduce the current large volume of open STOs down to target levels set by the business. This role will concentrate on STOs with a Modification route to closure, especially Safety STOs.

The role will include supporting & running regular reviews with Contract owners, SDR teams and EF to ensure closure plans are identified and the necessary sponsorship is obtained to progress the plans. Monitoring the progress of the satisfaction of technical instructions with the operators will also be in scope. The role will also be required to maintain the databases supporting this activity and producing regular business reports.

Chair and/or support meetings, reviews etc with the relevant stakeholders to develop and progress closure plans for technical instructions including the provision of related information to support these.
Maintenance of accurate records within the EF STO database.
Produce related business reports on monthly/ad hoc basis.
Monitor and report the ongoing satisfaction of released technical instructions on the RAF/RSAF/RAFO Typhoon fleets
Raise cancellation notices once evidence that all affected aircraft within an operators fleet have been completed.


The successful applicant must be:


A good communicator, both to impart information and ensure received information is properly understood.
Broad knowledge of aircraft systems and integration, or willingness to expand knowledge.
Able to analyse problems and suggest appropriate solutions.
Able to manage workload to ensure the customer and business needs are met.
Able to develop close working relationships with personnel who are crucial to the delivery of the STO closure plans.
Knowledgeable of in-service technical instruction processes.
Will be highly self-motivated individual with tenacity and attention to detail.
The individual must be comfortable dealing with engineering contacts internally, in partner companies and within the Customer Nations.

Must be well experienced with Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point.
