Supplier Quality Manager 14 Month FTC

On behalf of our client, a leading specialty manufacturer serving global Aerospace and Defense markets, we are searching for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join their team based in Hampshire on 14 month fixed term contract for maternity cover.

As a Supplier Quality Engineer you will be primarily responsible for developing and maintaining supplier’s quality performance and drive supplier quality management, in line with company control procedures and relevant regulatory standards e.g. AS/EN 9100.  You will ensure best practice is adopted within the supply chain to ensure highest levels of product integrity.

Responsibilities

• Train suppliers and review First Article Inspection reports to AS9102
• Drive, lead and train suppliers on proper completion of 8Ds through containment, root cause analysis, corrective and preventative action
• Manage supplier audits and approval process
• Analyse, track and report nonconformities and corrective actions on supplier rejects
• Manage and maintain quality assurance of supplier source change process

Requirements

• Good working knowledge of 8D or DMAIC
• Degree in electromechanical engineering or equivalent professional qualification/experience
• Experience with First Article Inspection Reports to AS9102
• Good technical engineering knowledge and ability to read engineering drawings
• Proven experience background in Supplier Quality or in a similar role in aerospace or other electromechanical environment
• Ability to lead supplier improvement projects

Desirable

• Understanding of key aerospace Quality Standards such as AS/EN 9100 and NADCAP
• Experience in PPAP
• Knowledge of SPC
• Experience in supplier Audits or relevant auditing experience
• Knowledge of aerospace quality management system requirements
