Job description

The Supplier Quality Engineer is a key technical leader responsible for working with Suppliers, Contract, Design Engineering, Operations and Supply Chain for the selection of qualified suppliers and improvement of supplier performance to provide a positive impact on the quality of new and existing products.

Supplier Management:
Plan and implement appropriate monitoring actions at suppliers (systems, products and processes, industrialization and phase series)

Implement appropriate metrics, consistent with Group quotation, to measure quality supplier performance level

Control processing system anomalies, processes and products (CAR, Non-conformities and concession products)

Establish supplier concession claim decision after analyzing relevance of causal analysis and corrective actions

Ensure effective implementation of corrective and preventive actions at supplier plant and internally

Measure action implemented effectiveness following anomalies

Manage and / or participate in crisis management until their quality closure

Ensure rank 2 supplier controls by rank 1 supplier

Ensure that suppliers control their tools, self, final inspection

Provide evidence to flow down non-quality costs to suppliers

Participating in Lessons learned following supplier none quality events.

Implement and Monitor Improvement Plans:
Measure and communicate supplier quality performance level to Supply Chain

Represent quality in supplier performance reviews

Analyze evaluation results, implement action plans and measure efficiency

Decline in supplier plants Quality Progress Plans including Lean-Sigma actions

Promote with suppliers metrics and quality assessments implementation

Identify and implement necessary training actions at supplier plant

Job requirements

A dynamic personality style with the ability and willingness to promote appropriate change and improvement and fully autonomous in performing his duty.

Experienced as auditor or qualified auditor

Experienced with aerospace manufacturing equipment.

Solid understanding of receiving inspection processes including statistical sampling, component measurement techniques, specifications and drawings.

Excellent problem resolution, judgment, and decision making skills required with thorough working knowledge of Quality systems methods and practices (DOE, PFMEA, Control Plans, Lean Manufacturing concepts, DMAIC, Root Cause Analysis, etc.).

Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities concurrently.

Proficient in spreadsheet (report formatting, graphing, formula calculation generation), database, presentation and project management tools (i.e. Excel, Minitab, etc.).

Ability to read and understand assembly drawings, schematics, block diagrams and Engineering Change Notices for the purpose of specific inspection criteria and evaluation.

Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Proficient with a personal computer and selected software applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel, Access, PowerPoint.
