Moog’s Aircraft Group (AG) has been offering Superior Engineering and Advanced Technologies to the Commercial Aircraft Market for over six decades. Bill Moog’s invention enabled the technology for Fly-by-Wire flight controls used in today’s modern aircraft. Today Moog offers integrated flight control solutions, actuation control systems, and product based solutions for much of the commercial aircraft market, both here in the US and Globally.
The Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for working with our supplier partners to ensure conforming Supplier IP parts supply to Moog.
Risk Assessment: Ensure closure or reduction of identified risks to the acceptable levels.
Quality Management System: Identify systemic process issues and work with Suppliers to improve the Processes based on AS9100 based QMS.
Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP): Ensure effective APQP for all new product launches to meet the set objectives.
Production Part Approval/ First Article Inspection Requirement: Ensure PPAP/ FAI process per AS 9102 is robust at Suppliers.
Problem Solving: Ensure effective problem solving/corrective action process using problem solving tools like 8D.
Inspection: Work with suppliers to develop and improve their inspection/control plans to meet Moog quality requirements. Inspect parts produced per Moog inspection plans as required.
Skill Development: Identify skill gaps at suppliers and ensure the desired skill levels are achieved.
Quality Audits: Will be responsible for Process and Product audits as required.
Skills and Requirements:
• Bachelor of Engineering with desired advance courses in Quality.
• 5 years of experience in Supplier Quality in an automotive/aerospace environment.
• Sound understanding of the Quality Management Systems & APQP Tools
• Ability to work with minimum supervision and an independent Quality mindset.
• Strong communication skills are required in the form of written, verbal and presentation.
• Sound knowledge of GDT, Inspection, knowledge of manufacturing processes, basic knowledge of special processes.
• Practical usage of advance quality tools, problem solving and continuous improvement.
• Effective communicator in English.
