Position Description

The Supervisor’s primary responsibility entails assisting the Manager, Production in the technical and administrative management of the production department. The Supervisor shall provide leadership, workload planning, allocating and overseeing the production requirements across the Maintenance, Structures, Avionics, Paint & Component shops. He/She shall ensure all work is performed in compliance with the Original Equipment Manufacturer’s (OEM) manual specifications, work instructions, quality & safety procedures, industry codes and company policy and procedures within the budget allocated to the respective projects.

The Supervisor will direct the Lead Hands from each of the production shop. Being the next level in the Organization structure, he is responsible for addressing technical & employee related issues that are brought to his attention by the Lead Hands.

Key Duties:
• Plan, organize, coordinate, and schedule work
• Assign duties to Leads / Technician and ensure that priorities are well communicated to work group
• Provide ongoing technical guidance and support to employees of respective area as well as other related areas
• Develop work methods, procedures, and standards
• Monitor and control Shop expenditures and turn-times
• Capacity planning by ensuring appropriate staffing levels are available for current and upcoming work
• Identify and resolve production related issues as they arise (i.e. Parts tooling, Engineering, Customer Support and Quality related Issues).
• Keep the Manager up to date and informed on all production issues
• Review shop and company processes and make recommendations to improve efficiency
• Implement shop process improvements as directed by the Manager
• Present communications in a consistent manner that supports organizational changes & goals.
• Solicit feedback on changes / improvements within the department
• Train and development of personnel under their supervision
• Oversee the work of the shop personnel ensuring that they are properly qualified for the jobs they have been assigned to do
• Ensure manpower planning is adequate to meet the needs of the shops
• Ensure that all products under their supervision are maintained in accordance with procedures outlined in Transport Canada Airworthiness Manual, company QCP’s and company Maintenance Manual
Position Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of previous Helicopter AME M, S or E experience.
• Applicable Transport Canada approved education
• Current/valid AME License preferable
• Strong aptitude for leadership including ability to build and motivate, cohesive, effective teams
