Specific Job Description

To undertake structures, installation and environmental activities in support of programmes. The candidate will be assigned a broad range of technical tasking including providing Environmental and Non-functional Design Engineering support, task control and management, and be required to ensure that all international;, European, national and in particular contractual standards are met and that appropriate design and qualification documentation is produced. These tasks will include:
- establish the requirements for the materiel;
- formulate a strategy for demonstrating the adequacy of the materiel against the requirements;
- define the tasks and the programme necessary to allow the strategy to be implemented;
- undertake the defined tasks to the authorized work programme;
- demonstrate, through assessment of the reported information generated by the tasks, that the material meets the requirements.
The candidate will also be required to perform activities in support of ongoing airworthiness and certification activities associated with the Merlin Programme, requirements analysis and solution development for adjacent opportunities; this will include development of Flight Clearance/certification documentation, System Specifications, Interface Control Documents and contributing to System Architectures and Designs. The focus of this activity will be on the structures/mechanical/installation aspects but also extend to other environmental aspects.

The role will not be authorized to provide services to Lockheed Martin, which are directly related to business development, acquisition, or sales efforts for a Lockheed Martin customer or potential customer. Any exception to this rule can only be granted, in advance, by the Lockheed Martin UK Business Practices representative or legal counsel representative.

The candidate must be able to demonstrate the following skills:

Desired skills, qualifications and experience

Previous experience of operating in a DAOS organisation, to support and review activities for aeronautical systems would be beneficial as would experience in authoring design certification documentation.

Experience in assessing the whole range of environmental aspects associated with military rotorcraft
