daa are currently recruiting a Strategic Workforce Planning Manager for our HR team reporting to the Head of Workforce Support. This exciting opportunity is to drive a consistent approach to demand forecasting planning across the daa and to oversee the development and implementation of optimised rosters based on agreed demand, reflective of operational needs and constraints in relation to roster principles, terms and conditions and relevant legislation.

An important objective is to embed and drive consistent good practice in relation to rostering and time and attendance, at all levels across daa, through monitoring and addressing non- compliance with agreed principles, policies and processes.

Qualifications

* Degree in business studies or a related discipline desirable
* Familiarity with forecasting and rostering technology solutions and with continuous improvement methodologies in relation to operational processes
* 10+ years’ experience of which 5+ years are at a senior management level ideally within an Operations Management environment
* Experience of working within a unionised and multi shift environment with a wide variety of work patterns, practices, terms and conditions
* Experience of working in an airport environment desirable but not essential
* Experience of working with and influencing senior management in large, complex organisations
* External vendor management experience
* Operations management background with a good understanding of unionised environments and operating constraints and significant experience in strategic workforce planning
* Good understanding of daa’s operating model and service delivery frameworks
* Awareness of external developments in the area of strategic workforce planning in similar organisations
* Strong leadership, decision making, stakeholder and vendor management and influencing skills
* Ability to communicate with impact at a senior level and to demonstrate sound strategic and operational judgment, allied to excellent oral and written communication skills
* Ability to build and sustain relationships internally and externally

Responsibilities

*
Participate as a member of the Workforce Support management team providing input to, and implementing, the agreed strategy and operational plans;

* Ensure specialist capability in demand forecasting is built either in house (as appropriate) or through third party providers (e.g. Copenhagen Optimisation) in order to bring challenge and rigour to the forecasting process in Workforce Support and the Business;
* Lead the provision of strategic and tactical support to Business Unit management in the development of optimised and compliant rosters, based on a thorough understanding of demand and supply considerations and constraints, in line with agreed roster principles and daa union agreements (as notified by HR and in consultation with the Process and Rules Integration Manager);
* Develop and implement overall governance structures, controls and KPIs responsible for addressing aspects of enduring and / or recurring non-compliance and engage with and influence stakeholders at a Senior Management and Executive level to drive appropriate leadership behaviours;
* Drive an ongoing focus on continuous improvement of demand forecasting planning, optimised rosters and governance
* Lead the Strategic Planning team and create an environment where people can develop to their full capability and perform at their best based on clarity of roles and clear accountabilities.
