Job Summary

Rockwell Collins is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our Commercial Avionics Pro Line Fusion Embedded Display Systems team. Put your avionics experience to work designing advanced avionics solutions for new aircraft pursuits, aircraft programs currently in development, and the wide fleet of Business and Regional aircraft currently in operation.

Job Responsibilities

The selected candidate will have the opportunity to experience all types of system engineering tasks from requirements capture and definition to certification of the final product on the aircraft. Job responsibilities include (but not limited to):

* Support the system level certification activities as required to show compliance to DO-297 and ARP-4754A.

* Development of system level specifications covering a wide breadth of avionics subsystems.

* Coordination with engineering domains during development programs.

* Development of system level test procedures to be used for formal systems verification.

* Perform system level testing to demonstrate proper system behavior and satisfy certification requirements.

* Investigate and troubleshoot both customer and internal issues.

* Coordination with customers and or dealers on requirements and system design.

Additionally, leadership opportunities exist for those candidates who are interested in growing toward either a technical leadership or management position.

Basic Qualifications

* This position requires experience in business, regional or air transport avionics product design/system engineering, with strong knowledge of one or more avionics subsystems.

* The ideal candidate should have an understanding of the product development process from initial program pursuit through the system/subsystem design and requirements capture, implementation and system verification and validation.

* Candidate should also have experience with domain and/or system level certification.

Individuals interested in this position must be comfortable working in a team environment and ideally have interest in technical leadership. Because the need for collaboration in the position is high, candidates will need to show ability to be flexible and willingness to collaborate to find optimal solutions. The soft skills of good leadership will be equally important as the expression of technical aptitude.
